My Story
My Scentsy story starts with me loving to decorate for the holidays and seasons and purchasing every new warmer that came out. Each month I would anxiously await to see what the warmer of the month was and then preorder so I would receive mine before everyone else. I also knew from looking at my bar collection that I just may have an addiction! I began thinking maybe I should look to see what being a consultant was all about.
My husband Nathan and I moved from Ohio to Florida the end of 2013. We have always dreamed of living by the water and in a warmer state. We knew that if we didn't do it then we would never do it. So together we challenged each other and began our journey on Thanksgiving Day 2013. I would continue to order my monthly warmers and Nathan even bought me 3 full size warmers for Christmas our first year here in Florida. Over that first year we started building new relationships and friendships with people we were meeting around town, at work, and in the neighborhood. I wanted to get out more and meet even more people.
In June of 2015 Scentsy offered a Join in June special for $49. On the very last day of the month, I looked at Nathan, which happened to also be his birthday and said “I think I am going to give Scentsy a try.” And with that I clicked that join button on June 30, 2015, and I am thankful every day that I believed in myself enough to give it a shot.
When I started my journey, I was not sure what I was going to make of the business. I started small, supported my love for the product and slowly grew my team. With each passing year my team and group began to grow and grow, and I started thinking I could see myself making this my full-time business and started putting a plan in place. In 2018, during our CEO’s keynote Orville talked about how Scentsy started with a very special handshake. That handshake took place on May 1, 2004. This too is a very special day for Nathan and I – our wedding day. We both looked at each other knew we were exactly where we were supposed to be.
Exactly one year later a dream that I honestly never thought would come true did with all our Scentsy Family. We promoted to Director!!! This is the 3rd highest level in our company. This has been such a huge accomplishment for me. It is a complete honor to be in leadership within our company. I told myself and Nathan, that I am not stopping here. I AM going to make this a full-time business and I WILL be working from home.
AND guess what!!!! I DID IT! In October of 2021 I officially became a 9 to 5 drop out and am working my Scentsy business full-time. What does this mean? Freedom – to me it is the Freedom. This looks different for everyone, but I feel like I have gained so much time back with my husband and we are loving every single minute of it.
This is something I have dreamed of for a very long time. And as I sit here it is still a little unreal. It has taken time, hard work, dedication, and courage. You must BELIEVE in yourself and trust that everyone’s journey is NOT the same. Some roads are longer and a little more winding, others are straight and short, whatever your road is or wherever it takes you – do it for YOU!!!
Brings us to today, 2025. You never know what life is going to throw your way and our journey has now brought us back to Ohio. Over the last 18 months our families have had a few health scares and we sat down and looked at each other and said it's time. The next 5 will be the best 5 is the motto we are living out. I am excited to be back and see where this new adventure will take my business, my team, and my customers.
I am so damn proud of myself. The dreams and goals that Nathan and I have are happening. . Scentsy has provided our family with so many opportunities, relationships, friendships, and so much more. This is just the beginning folks. LOOK OUT – your girl is on a mission, and I can’t wait to see where this limitless journey takes me! I’d love to have you along with me on this ride!! You CAN do this too – you just have to jump and BELIEVE; you’ll never know if you never try.
